Tour Highlights

Mask Dances: These are the heart of the festival. Dancers wearing colorful masks perform dances that depict stories from Buddhist mythology. Each dance has a unique spiritual significance

Religious Rituals: The festival is filled with various religious ceremonies. One of the most anticipated events is the unveiling of the Thongdrel, a giant religious tapestry, which is believed to cleanse onlookers of their sins.

Traditional Music: Traditional Bhutanese music is a key part of the festival. Musicians play traditional instruments like the Dramyin (a type of lute) and Lingm (flute), creating a festive atmosphere

Community Gathering: The festival is a major social event. It's a time when people dress in their finest traditional clothes, meet friends and family, and celebrate together.

What to Wear

• Males : Gho, Pants ad Shirts

• Long sleeves and pants to protect against insects/mosquitoes.

• Females : Kira(Bhutanese Traditional dress), Pants and Shirts

Travel Arrangements

Transportation: You will be picked up from Paro International Airport and driven to your hotel in Thimphu. All transportation during the tour, including to and from the festival, will be provided.

Accommodation: You will be staying at a comfortable hotel in Thimphu that offers modern amenities while reflecting Bhutan’s traditional architecture and design.

Meals: All meals will be provided during the tour. You will have the opportunity to taste a variety of Bhutanese dishes, including at the festival where local food stalls will be available.

Health and Safety

Altitude Sickness: Thimphu is located at a high altitude. If you’re not used to such altitudes, you might experience altitude sickness. It’s recommended to acclimatize yourself before the tour and stay hydrated.

Local Customs: Bhutan has a rich cultural heritage and locals appreciate when visitors respect their customs. For instance, when visiting religious sites, it’s important to dress modestly and follow the local etiquette.

Travel Insurance: It’s recommended to have travel insurance that covers any potential medical issues, trip cancellations or delays.
