Your keys to the kingdom
Obtaining a visa or permit for Bhutan is easy and brings you one step closer to your journey.
Most visitors to Bhutan, except those from India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives (who have different procedures and fees), must obtain a visa in advance.
As part of the application, a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of US$100 per adult per day is required (discounted rates apply for children), along with a non-refundable visa fee of US$40. You can apply online or have a tour operator or hotel handle it. To apply, you’ll need a valid passport copy, a recent photo, arrival and departure dates, travel insurance, and payment details. The application process includes:
1. Signing the Pledge of Friendship
2. Creating an account
3. Adding travel details
4. Paying the fees
You can save your progress and return later. Once submitted, applications are reviewed within five working days.
